On the occasion of the PhD Defenses of Esteban Maestre and Alfonso Pérez, the Music Technology Group (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) is glad to announce the organization of a Workshop on Performance Gestures and Sound Generation. The workshop, aimed at providing an overview of current research in the area of musical performance gestures and sound generation techniques, will consist on invited talks by experts in the field and a series of short presentations on related topics.

The attendance to the workshop is open to anyone interested and free of charge. We encourage the participation in the form of presentations, demos, or proposals for panel discussions related to (but not restricted to) acquisition of performance gesture parameters, performance gesture analysis and modeling, control interfaces, and gesture-based control of musical sound.
