The Speech Processing Group (VEU) works in the fields of language engineering and speech signal processing. The main aim of the VEU is to develop speech communication systems involving robust signal coding and representation, text-to-speech conversion, speech recognition, translation and spoken dialogue, with a view to overcoming language barriers and providing greater access to information systems.
