The aim of SKATeR consists in advancing the state-of-the-art in the integration of textual processing, semantic interpretation, inference and reasoning, detection and generalization of events, scenario induction and its exploitation in a number of advanced content-based domain applications. Given the current state-of-the-art in those areas, we also plan to develop intuitive collaborative interfaces which will
allow communities of users to improve the knowledge for different domains, including multilingual communities involving English, Spanish, Catalan, Basque, and Galician.

TACARDI: Traducción Automática en Contexto y Aumentada con Recursos Dinámicos de Internet

TACARDI aims at improving machine translation by two means. First, by the exploitation of new resources provided by the Internet both on-line and off-line. This includes the usage of comparable corpora gathered from Internet, lexicons obtained from Wikipedia, its metadata, etc. Second, TACARDI wants to go beyond the sentence level translation and tackle document level translation. For this, techniques to assure coherence and meta-information in the documents themselves will be used in the translation process.
