ALIADO undertakes the developing of spoken and written language technologies for

the design of personal assistants in a multilingual environment. Main attention is paid to the

design of the oral interface. We consider two examples of language centred help that can be

provided by the assistant: “question answering” and text or speech machine translation. The

technologies developed will be used to implement two showcases.
